Don’t know if anyone has done it before but I have decided to make my canopy skirt out of fiberglass!
The back story is, I purchased an old kit that has been sitting around for years partially completed. The canopy frame and canopy were a mess but the canopy was already cut and drilled to the frame. In the end, I made new front and rear bows and the tubular mount for the canopy and remade a new frame. The fun was making it all fit to the predrilled canopy. Since the RV3 skirt I previously made came out so good I decided to do it again.
The following pictures show some of the steps from filling out the frame for the Layups to where I am now.
Now the fun of sanding and filling begins!

Well, it was on an RV-3B, but I did, and I included an aft latch, the third latch point, too, The fairing and frame were integral:

I have been working on the RV4 canopy skirt off and on and finally got itinto some primer. It’s all good and ready for final paint on the frame and skirt. Once that’s done I can assemble it with the canopy.
