Whelen position bulb

My lens melted on my RV-7 right side (green) from the position lamp being too close I guess. I was going to buy an LED replacement bulb to solve the heat problem. I called Whelen and they said I had to buy a Chroma bulb which costs $130!
It seems to me the other led bulb they have at A.S. for about $25 would work Bay15s kind? Anybody know for sure. I have the A650 PG/PR models.

I think the BA9S will work, they have a wide variety of options. Many in the $10 or less range.
