RV-10 leading edges.

Finalizing the leading edges. The wing structure is on hold due to the laser cutting fiasco. 99% of my fuse is punched so might put the wing parts in storage and start on that now.

OSH baby!

Made it to the show. Had some fun turbulence around the Rockies (went North route) but overall was smooth. Three 6 hour legs meeting friends at each stop.

Row 334 HBC.

I'd know that ramp and brick facade anywhere! Casa Machado is a favorite destination of mine. I try to make the return flight after dark because it's so cool flying up the coast at night.

Yep, you know it!

Not so impressive milestone, but still….

So while there are many, if not most, RVs with more time, this one is mine. I crossed over 250 hours total time on the airplane and engine I built in my garage. This a pretty amazing hobby and a pretty amazing plane. Thanks to everyone the nudged me one way or another, and most of all, DR for the platform.

Up-sloping runway in Ontario, Canada

While my friends escape Ottawa for Oshkosh this weekend, Shirley and I took advantage of the good weather Saturday to visit Sean Binkley at Baker Valley Aerodrome (PPR) near Arden, Ontario. A bit of a challenging approach due to gusts (my classic excuse) and we taxied a bit up the hill. I like that natural braking option... don't forget to look both ways before crossing the road

A new airport challenge for Vlad for the next time he comes by these parts...

Beach trip to Iroquois (CNP7), Ontario

Sunday, another beautiful day and my friends are now partying at Oshkosh. Shirley wants to go to the beach and proposes to go to Iroquois.

Nice! Iroquois (CNP7) is a PPR aerodrome. Facilities include paved runway, free parking and overnight camping (I think that still holds true), campground, marina, golf course, and of course a beach.

You can drive there, but ... those who are members of this elite forum know better :)

We flew out early afternoon from CYRP (Carp, Ontario) and encountered a small localized rain cloud. Free "car" wash. Only about 20 minutes from Carp, we landed and felt a few drops. Opened up our umbrella for a few minutes to stay dry, the shower quickly dissipated and we were then able to walk over to the beach. You can see how Shirley managed to fit the umbrella in the plane.

It's not KOSH, but it sure was fun.

...

Panel Install

I spent a couple days finishing my -7 panel and installing it. Overall, a good weekend I'd say.
