RV-6 tanks completed in 2000 and now have 6 rivets preventing gas from leading by paint only. Short of removing and cutting into the tanks, Would appreciate any and all help with ideas/recommendations.
The standard attempt to fix this seems to be to pull a slight (slight!) vacuum on the tank, and then apply a sealant like green Locktite around the rivet head.
Steve Melton recently used the tip of a syringe to increase the external pressure of extrusion (proseal) to seal his rivets. A device similar to the one pictured should easily generate 100+ psi to inject the green Loctite/proseal into the rivet from the surface.
