Nose wheel pants question

I had to replace my nose wheel pant and just received the new parts. They don’t fit together without a lot of effort, ie the front of the pant is about a half inch smaller than the back. Is this normal, or should I call vans? It just seems a lot more off than most parts I have felt with before. If normal, what have you done about it?

Heat

Assuming it's the forward pant that is not correct.
Before cutting or drilling anything, heat the forward pant to 200*. Slip the aft pant into place and tape the two together. Allow to cool. Should help.
If it's the aft pant too wide then heat the aft pant.
It might help to try and figure out which one with respect to the wheel mount.
