Boroscope question

Active Member
I've found an RV that I'm interested in purchasing. It was built with an engine that sat for a long time. I have boroscope pictures and was wondering if anyone on here could take a look and tell me if what they see is good, bad or ugly. I don't want to post publicly but would really appreciate some help.

TIA!

do an online search for what you need. there is plenty of pics out there. learn about 'morning sickness', exhaust valve wobble test, and running lean of peak. enjoy your rv.

In which case things to check would be, amongst others, the cam lobes and camshaft... very easy once 1 or 2 cylinders are off, or thru the crankshaft with the prop removed, or by removing the oil pan.

Superficial cylinder rust is commonly not a problem as scraped by the rings, though it will reflect in the first oil analysis.
