When I was planning and scheming for this, I turned over every rock I could think of looking for data on how my weight and balance might come out if I squeezed in an IO390 up front. Several folks have done this and a couple shared their numbers but hard data was kind of scarce.

I did my weight and balance today, so if anybody is looking in the future, here's one data point.

RV7
Slider Canopy
Condor tailwheel fork & 6" pneumatic tire
ELT and pitch servo in tailcone
Magnetometer in empennage
All other radios behind the panel
RV10 oil cooler on firewall
EarthX 680 compact battery on the firewall
Vetterman crossover exhaust
YIO390-A3B6
Whirlwind 300-72
No paint or interior other than temporary crew seats

L/H main = 529.88
R/H main 528.44
Tail 60.6

My W&B improved significantly on a nicely equipped 7A when going from a PV 360 to a IO-390. couldn’t be happier.
