Tire question

After 6 yr and 800 hr I have replaced mains twice due to wear (Vans supplied tires didn’t last well). Question is whether to replace original Vans supplied nose wheel tire. It still looks good but I hate to think about a failure on landing. Opinions?

400 hrs average? Are you flipping the tires over at 200 hours?
Edit. Opps, didn’t read carefully enough. You asked about the nosewheel. If there’s tread left, no cracks, I see no reason to discard a perfectly functioning tire.

Nose wheel wear is a lot less than the mains. If the side walls are not cracking and there is tread remaining then carry on. If it makes you happier to change the tire (& tube?) based on age then go ahead, its your airplane, write the maintenance schedule as you see fit.
Yes, nosewheel flats are no fun, but that is often caused by taxiing too fast on bumpy taxiways with an underinflated wheel.
