RV-7 - move throttle to the left side of panel

Andreas_EEKT

I'm New Here
Hi :) I would like to move the throttle of my RV-7 to the left side of the panel because this makes it easier to fly the airplane during formation flying/aerobatics and even landings.

Any recommendations kits ?

I was also thinking about installing a dual throttle - keep the original one in place and installing a second one which moves in synch. The french Robin 2160 Aerobatic Trainer has that arrangement.

Any information highly appreciated ! :)

Dual throttle

A friend is Removing a dual side-throttle setup in an RV-6A that he recently purchased. The extra friction of all the linkages and cables made formation flying impossible.

I recommend getting used to a center throttle, and flying from the left seat. You will be amazed at how quickly you adapt.

Left side

I owned a beautiful RV-7 that had a left side (only) quadrant and it worked beautifully. The original builder and current owner (yes, he bought it back) is on VAF so perhaps he'll chime in.
