Hey guys. Trying to figure out what the advantages or disadvantages of this rudder would be…

The balanced horn of the rudder leads all the way to the leading edge.

Advantages are: Less weight needed and only 1 clearance gap to deal with.

Any disadvantages? It’s an 220hp F-4 Raider, so it’s gonna be faster than the average RV.

A longer counterbalance arm can reduce the rudder feedback forces because of the aerodynamic counter balance influence that can be induced.
