Pitch Autopilot Servo - rubber mounted motor?

Doing that thing you do every year, and looking at my pitch AP servo I see some motion that I've never noticed before. It looks like the servo motor is rubber mounted. It's not the same on the roll AP servo. It's working fine.

Is this normal? Here's a 20 second video showing the motion. Thanks for any advice!

Wow, I have always thought the motor is solidly mounted to the base. Thanks for the finding.

This is done to allow the need for pitch trim to be sensed. If the motor is sustaining too much torque then it flexes in those rubber mounts, and a sensor detects the deflection, and then you get an indicator for up or down pitch trim on your efis.

Thanks - good to know it's normal.

Not normal

In the TruTrak Pitch Servo, there is a web "spring" which allows the servo to rotate slightly under force (and hence detect need for trim).

I have found TWO used TruTrak Servos ... both with spring fractures. The web has 4 legs. One servo had two legs broken, other had 1 broken.

With that much movement... something is broken internally I bet.
