Wobble test / DIY Fixtures…
I know this has been discussed before but there are a few items that I discovered on my journey to do mine.
First: this is a Lycoming Mandatory Service Bulletin. Is that actually something that HAS to be done? Or is it just prudent? I think it is most important with a certain group of engines that came from the factory with less than good valve guides but apparently is recommended for all..... Several mechanics I have talked to have said No and one or two asked What's a wobble test?

How do I get that rod end bolt onto the prop governor actuator? …7
Are people using a castellated nut and cotter pin here? Not a bad idea and certainly nothing wrong with doing so, but my plans show a MS21042 locknut there:
Admittedly, the plans are inconsistent about the use of castellated nuts versus locknuts on rod end bearings in the FWF area... drawing OP-22 shows castellated nuts for throttle and mixture, but OP-26 shows locknuts for the same controls.

This Snap On spring extension belonged to my late father. I use it every time I take the cowling off. Throw a socket on the end with a bit and you’re good to go. No worries on the chipped paint, it’s annual number 22😜

Hi all, Is there a 'trick' to attaching the control rod end to the prop governor actuator arm? (Hartzell governor) I am using Van's mounting bracket and control cable....According to the plans, I am to install the bolt with the head towards the governor...the bolt is too long to get between the...
