There is a nice Rocket kit for sale on this forum that looks well built and reasonably price. The HRII kit will basically be unsupported. However, Vince probably will show some mercy on you and you will still be able to buy some parts from him if needed. The F4 is a well rounded bird and more reasonable in pricing and operation than the 6 cyl F1. LOT's of room behind the engine to work and get around versus the 6cyl. Really don't go that much faster. Won't do those stellar climb outs or sound as throaty but your wallet will be happier. I bet a lite F4 with a almost 200hp IO-360 Parallel valve engine would still climb close to 3K/ min. Very hard to beat for an all around airplane. Looks waaaaaaaaay better than an -8.
