Rudder pedals not centered on pilot?

I just put my rudder pedal assembly into the right side up fuselage. It seems kind of strange that the rudder pedals don't center on the stick opening in the seat floor. Instead, they seem to center on the outboard floor stiffeners (on both sides) which are not directly in front of the pilot. Thus, it seems like the pilot has to point legs to the outboard a little rather than straight forward. At first I thought maybe I had the fore-aft position of each weldment (right and left) reversed, but no, the cable "tabs" are both in the outboard-most positions. Is this offset true with all side x side RV's or is mine the only one?

Yep, it's true. Has been like that since the first RV6 was built. I have never noticed it while flying the airplane but you can easily see it when the seat cushions are not installed.

Martin Sutter,
2500 RV flying hrs (all with offset rudder pedals) and still walking straight!
