Canopy Fit

Has anyone had to radius the lower front corner of the f/g layup where it passes the longeron? Mine passes so close that once the fuselage is painted, the canopy will chafe the fuse. I seem to recall seeing a pic. of someone who did this, but I can't remember the thread topic. I already have two washers on each side hinge point and have dressed the glass all I care to. I am thinking about putting just enough radius on that corner to miss the longeron. Looking for input from the pros.

Did it the same way

Dave,
I'm no pro, just a first time builder, but I did it the same way that you have planned. I also filed away some of the aluminum of the canopy frame on the inboard side and forward of the pivot bolt.

Dave 12,
Yes. Do what you have to to get the clearance. Since there is a difference in every one of these artworks in fibreglas (even from one side to the other) you have to whatever works.
