Aeroshell Aerobatic Team- tragic news

If you've ever been to S&F or Oshkosh, then you've enjoyed the performances of the Aeroshell guys. Many of you may have heard that Alan Henley, the team leader, was injured in a freak accident just days before the start of Oshkosh.Unless you've been following the story, you most likely don't realize that Alan remains paralized from the chest down.

It is truly heartbreaking. Take a moment to count your blessings. And please consider making a donation to the Alan Henley Foundation.

thanks,

Tony

Very Sad

After reading the information it appears there is hope for recovery. Do you have anymore information that the paralysis is temporary?

This is a very sad situation and I wish him and his family the best. A donation has been made.

You just never know.......

Aeroshell Team- Alan Henley reminder

Some of you may have kept up with Alan's situation since his tragic accident, but I'm guessing most have not.

His wife Jennifer is keeping a daily blog. Here's the entry from yesterday:

I've been reluctant about blogging because I feel like we are in a very strange place right now. Alan is coming to a point where things are not progressing in the way he would like them to. He wants a flicker to turn into a movement and that is just not the way it works with this severe of an injury. He fights everyday to get his lungs stronger, build his endurance and get through a day when everyone has to do everything for him, from scratching his nose, to putting him in a hoist to get out of bed. I see his frustration level growing and it breaks my heart. The journey that he is on right now is not one that many people, including myself, can understand, except for God. He is always there, waiting to hold on our hands, lift us up and bring us out of despair, but we have to reach out and we have to ask. This is not a journey that we are on alone, and Thank God, for that! Proverbs 3:5 says, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding".

I pray that God will give him peace on his heart and on his mind. This journey is going to be slow process which is hard to understand especially when he likes going a few hundred miles an hour, ten feet off the ground!

We are so fortunate to have the love and support of so many family and friends...it means the world to us and gets us through the day. Through this tragedy we have seen the value of true friendships and God's blessings all around us.

I pray you have a wonderful night!

Love,

Jennifer
