Will a vent work here

I would like to put a RV-10 style vent on each side of my RV-4. However, the location I want to use is right above the cheek cowl, below the canopy. See the drawing below.

Even if this is a low pressure area, the vent sticks out about an inch or so when opened and it seems like it would still catch air. I just wanted to bounce this idea off everyone before I cut into my fuselage. What do you think. Thanks.

I'm getting ready to cut and I like this spot as well. How about on the other side of the cabin?

Thanks

Tim

I put mine (two, one on each side) closer to the rudder pedals, so that it cools off my legs as well. I have an eye ball vent from steins on my dash that blows heat in winter and cool in summer. For the GIB I have two Vetterman vents.
