Flap horn position?

Installing my control system. Installing the flap horns just outside the fuselage, but the clocking looks wrong. Mine are pointing nearly straight down, slightly aft actually, with the flap motor still in its original position (which I assume is flaps-up). But Vans instructions show the horn pointed towards the much more towards the front. Checking ahead, there are views showing both the position I have and the forward-pointing one, so I assume it's okay...

Can someone confirm the difference is just the motor position (flaps up or down), and that I haven't screwed something up (at least on this piece )?
