Affixing the fuel float to sender

Jeff R

I have the fuel float all adjusted, but how do you affix it to the sender so that it doesn't flop arouhd? I mean, the float will rotate about the axis of the wire that is inserted into the sender. How do you hold it in place? Proseal???

Also, when installing the drain value, does one use some kind of sealent or something like teflon tape?

Thanks.

Jeff,

Look at the directions real close. You have to bend it 90o and then it
snaps into the holder on the sender. Ask me how I know this.:D
That is on the end that goes into the sender. I think you come up
1/4 inch or so. I will go look at my directions. Get back with you in
a while.

Jeff,

Found the directions. The 90o is where it says slot on the destructions
on the bottom right pic.
Hope this helps.

For the drain valve use only fuel lube, never teflon tape. Fuel lube is available from most aircraft supply houses. Also, on the plans the drain valve bottoms out into the fitting on the tank. This is a mistake on the drawings. The valve is a pipe fitting, which means it's tapered and gets wider the higher you go on the threads(ask me how I know) and does not go all the way in. Just torque it snugly, no need to get a bigger wrench.
