New Location for GRT Magnetometer

Originally, the magnetometer was located on top of the wing spar between the seats. There was no way I was going to fit and work aft of the baggage compartment to relocate the unit. The magnetometer fit nicely in the overhead canopy U-channel. Everything tested out okay and the location works great.

My buddy Mark Bishoff (Skunkworks) mounted his vor/loc/gs antenna right there and it works great.

I mounted the GRT Magnetometer and AHRS in my RV-12 behind the bulkhead in the tail.

Where did you put the AHRS?

I have dual GRT 200SX displays. The AHRS is internal in the left display. The dual AHRS is an additional option that I do not have.
