RV-9A first flight. Special thanks to Bill Duffy, Jon Thocker and all of the other guys at HAO. I counted 20 RVs on the field, based at HAO, a great community.

Huge congrats Steve. Keep us posted on Phase 1. I'm going to have to stop by KHAO and check it out while I'm in Ohio. Sounds kind of like 52F in Texas where DR and the boys play.

Blast it! Missed your next big milestone again!!! Was hoping to be around when Stan did your inspection, much less the gravity-breaking!

A big congrats Steve. I'm going to have to pop my head in again sometime soon. Just don't let Hersha convince you to do formation in the 9A with him and the gang. He almost did that to me at the VAF Beer Fairy meeting at OSH. :)

Now go burn off those 40 hours!

BIGtime congratulations !!!!

... and welcome to the Flying 9A club !!!!!! It is an extraordinary airplane, as I continue to discover. :D

brand new RVs without their gear fairings always look like baby birds to me... all spindly legs and uncertainty :)

RE: First Flight

Mr. Melton,

Congratulations on the first flight!

BTW, I really like that tan color paint scheme/upholstery in the cabin. Mind my asking what paint you used and if there was any special prep? Also, are your seats/seat fabric a custom job or are they from one of the popular companies (Classic Aero, Flightline, Oregon Aero, etc.)?

Thanks in advance for your help!

It's always a pleasure to hear about another 9 taking to the air. Congratulations!

Good on you Steve

Great looking 9 you have there. Hope to hear more as your phase one progresses.
