RV-12

My RV-12 is Experimental Amateur-built, it was build from a standard Van's RV-12 kit with lights and wheel pants, the engine is a Rotax 912 with a 3 blade prop, radios are G3X, 495, SL 30, GTX 327. GX pilot autopilot with backup instruments and airspeed. I painted the plane myself with Jetglo, Matterhorn white, orange zest and black. All graphics were applied by decalmyplane.com Vinyl was heat shrunk around each rivet, looks like paint.
I currently have 96 hours, since Walt at EXP Aircraft Services balanced my prop
it is smooth and I am loving it.

Looks great - you did a really good job. I am interested to know which prop you are using and how do you like it. I would appreciate any performance info that you can give to us. Thanks very much.

I guess the paint scheme is modelled on a past US Navy trainer, but which one was painted like that?
Beautiful looking aircraft, both inside and out. A credit to you.

USN Primary Trainer much..

It's a little short in the nose and appears to be missing at least one yellow 'Rescue' me arrow, but otherwise it's a very nice reproduction of the Navy Primary Trainer scheme... well done! I hope to follow suit someday - that's about how I imagine my 8 when I close my eyes.

What other changes did you make from ELSA than the panel? Love the throttle! What's the lever on the pilot side floor?

Like the military trainer theme when it is done this well. One of the nicest -12s in the fleet.

One question, do you have a VOR antenna somewhere in the airplane for your SL30?

Very nice. What were the interior colors? Did Abby do that for you? Very good looking bird all around.

What parts did you use for your parking brake?
 
Paint Scraping

I sure hope he don't mess up the paint too bad when he scrapes off all those letter "N"s from the plane to be legal: I guess he could just add "US" in front of the Navy words.

45.22(b)(2) displays no other mark that begins with the letter "N" anywhere on the aircraft.
 
"N". ??? Looks like a crooked "Z" like mine! :)

Thank you, I use Sensenich 3 blade propeller no speed advantage, showing 120 KT TAS at 5500 RPM and 2000 ft with propeller balanced turbine smooth. :D
 
Beautiful paint job & scheme... Though I'm partial to Army paint schemes. Mind sharing what your throttle set is?
