RV-14 Empennage is on it's way!!!

My empennage has been shipped! My journey will begin soon. I spoke with Vans Aircraft on the phone today. The lady I spoke with and the website remind you to look for damage prior to signing for the crate. Please let me know if anyone has had damage to their product during transport and how hard it was to receive compensation?

Carefully inspect your crates, especially looking for fork penetrations. Don't let the driver rush your inspection and note ANY damage on the bill. Otherwise the shipper will not pay for damages. Seems like the fork truck drivers use the dollar signs as targets.My -12 fuse and finish kits arrived today, with a fork hole in the finish kit box. The driver noted it on the bill so I would be covered. Fortunately no parts inside were damaged. Do not fail to note damage on the bill of lading or the shipper will weasel out of paying, happened to me with the wing kit :-(
