I'm looking for a good oil or water based paint to do pinstripe and accents in a true golden and a true chrome/polished aluminum color. Paint that shines after it dries. Anyone have a lead?
Thanks

Here are a few interesting options:
http://www.sprayonchrome.com/index2.html = have to buy a complete system

Spray cans here or choose the bottles, I bought this but haven't tried them yet (1 can black backer, 1 can clear and 1 can chrome) https://www.hobbyrecreationproducts.com/collections/spazstix-ultimate-mirror-chrome

Here is the gold and more chrome painting systems to buy, this has better reviews than the 1st link: https://goldtouchinc.com/

How about a good rated chrome paint pen-various model making sites like this product, many with great reviews-most use a clear coat on top to protect and add shiny to it: https://www.molotow.com/en/applications/marker-applications/liquid-chrome/

http://alclad2.com/

https://alsacorp.com/easy-chrome/ This one you can apply with a brush if you want or spray like the others.

Both the Spectra Chrome and Gold touch chrome can be mixed with color for a colored chrome finish.

Hope this helps!

You might consider an auto supply store like O?Reily?s. Some on these stores can custom mix colors for you and put them in spray cans for easy application. For small pinstripping jobs or minor repairs this is an easy and economical repair choice. And getting a custom color with paint code numbers allows you to replicate the paint again in the future if needed. Color matching is also usually possible.

House of Kolor has a chrome paint as well and many metallic pinstriping colors. I don't know how well the chrome paints will brush, probably poorly. Most of the ones i've seen are designed to be sprayed in multiple thin coats.

Depending on what you are trying to do, you may want to look at tapes. You can get them in metallic finishes.

I tried some rattle can colors like this on a project once. Each was like a flat paint, where it will change sheen as the surface is rubbed/burnished. If you want it to shine with this type of color, you want base/clear or single stage urethane.
