Has anyone installed an ELT in their RV3? I?m looking at putting an ACK or Artex either on the floor or side of the cargo area just behind the seat. Alternatively, it could go behind the aft cargo bulkhead, but then it?s a pain to access. Any thoughts on a KISS installation?

Why would you want to, not required on a single seater. But if you decide to, hanging it off the longeron behind the seat is a good spot.

Antenna ?

Antenna routing/ mounting / performance could be a consideration in your final plan.

Mine was behind the seat, mounted to the floor but as mentioned, you don't need one in an RV-3. I removed mine for simplicity and weight savings.
And I'm told the hand held ones may be better because you can take it with you if you need to abandon the aircraft to self rescue.

Since you are based in Canada, do you need an ELT?

If not, you might want to check into installing an APRS tacking system.
