Default Buying GoPro 8 today !!!

Thought I would buy a GoPro Hero 8 today (cyber monday deals)
What extra mounts do I need to order for inside the cockpit use for an RV-8 ?

This is our first video camera so open to any other brand or model camera suggestions

Thanks
J.

Default Virb

I've had gopros in the past, but far prefer the virb ultra 30. It has gps and all kinds of metrics you can include in your videos that are logged internally. Plus, it bluetooths into audiopanels with no wires. Sweet setup. It uses the same mounts as a go pro. You can get a grab bag of all the mounts you could possibly use for around $15 on Amazon.

I put a sticky mount on a spring loaded clamp from home depot and just clamped it on the glare sheild. It worked fine.

I went with Garmin VIRB 30 Ultra, non-aviation bundle..... and it comes with several different mounts.
(Adventure bundle Amazon)
We’ll see how it works out
Thanks
J.

Default GoPro 8

I can't speak for mounts, but the GoPro 8 is greatly improved over the previous models.

They made it easy for people who don't want to spend the time editing. You can just plug it into your wall at home and it will automatically upload everything to the cloud. It also makes videos for you that are pretty watchable. We've used that feature a lot when I don't want to deal with editing. You just pick a song and let it do its thing.

Other cool stuff now.... GoPro Plus is like $50 for the year but comes with unlimited cloud storage, a no questions asked warranty if you break the camera, and half-off on all the mounts. I've been on a GoPro strike because the features haven't significantly improved since the 4, but we bought the 8 Black and think it's totally worth it. It has GPS features now as well. Good luck.
