riveting the flaps

Good afternoon,
I clecoed my flaps together for one last fit before I rivet them together. While doing this I noticed that where the top skin overlaps the bottom skin on the inboard side there is about an inch and a half of overhang with no rivets. I am curious because the opening faces the direction of flight and I could see it easily getting bent by the airstream. What have others done, did you leave it, put a rivet in it, pro seal it? Just curious b/c if I am to rivet it, it will be much easier to dimple before I actually put it together
thanks,
Brandon

Hi Brandon,

I believe the skin you are describing is potential excess that gets trimmed to fit the contour of the fuselage when the wings are finally mated. Just leave it for now.

Good luck!
