Keep catalyst in the freezer?

I took down my can of catalyst from the shelf, opened it and found a solid, glass-like block inside. It's been on the shelf for a year or two, I don't remember. So now I decided to divide the new can into four small bottles and while I use one I put the other three in the freezer. Does it sound like a good idea or do I ruin the catalyst?

My experience and research is that air is the core problem and not temp, within reasonable ranges. A new, sealed can of 2K acitivator can last two years or more. A can that is half full may only last 6 months. This applies to iso based paint activators, so may not directly relate to whatever type of catalyst you are using.
