These say "7/9" but are there not two different fin/rudder tip fairing heights common on -7s? The earlier height, as well as the RV-8, would require different lengths of gust lock.

Agreed, it's not a perfect test. It will never be a perfect test unless it is mounted on an aircraft and strained to failure. I just need an aircraft to test it to failure, but not mine. I don't plan to do any more testing of this piece. My test setup was somewhat dangerous and I'm staying away from it. It is what it is, the best I could do at this moment.

I thought the 7 and 9 had the same vertical stab and rudder but maybe they are different. I believe the 8 is slightly different.

The key thing that is different is the height of the fiberglass tip cap that is used for each. The 7 and 8 originally had a shorter one, and the 9 had a much taller one. Then they started using the one from the 9 on the 7.

It is critical in your product because you want the plastic part to extend down far enough so the end bares on the aluminum below the fiberglass fairing.

Default a couple things

I printed this dehydrator cap from Thingiverse or somewhere. it was too big and didn't fit. I need to design my own.

***

first time to print the fuel sump mount in red. I really like it. No trouble locating it since it's red. I have one mounted on the wall in my hangar and I cycle it at least 10 times each time I visit. it must have a thousand cycles by now and it's in perfect condition. it's very light weight.

***

General purpose gust lock with .032 alum web. I over killed it with the 3/8" dia pin. it doesn't need that. I will reduce to 1/4" inch pin size but overall I think it has promise.

Default Gust Lock - general purpose

Both of these should have similar strength. Mix and match as slot size is the same for both.

High profile - easy to access pins

**

Low profile - compact design
