Does winter affect digipeaters/iGates?

For about a week I am driving around Metropolitan area and my beacons are not captured. First I thought it was hardware and I checked everything. Second checked programming all good. Today only one beacon made its way to the internet it means my APRS transmits. How winter can affect digipeaters/iGates?

I think the most common way is for weather to knock down antennae! I don't think you would see such drastic propagation differences merely due to cold weather. I am having the same problem here in Napa; The digi is working but no I-gating seems to be happening.
