Tip: Bicycle spoke control surface lock

I used this lock to hold the rudder while sanding the fin cap to rudder cap fairings. Also great for elevator and stab tips.
Thought others might find it useful.

I'm pleased with is the way the loop works as a tension spring to allow a small bit of movement if you bump the rudder..:)
Mk2 will use a bit more spoke length and the end will make another loop to form a butterfly (wingnut) type end. Will make it easier to fasten and release.
When my RV is finished, I'll have to re-engineer a bigger, padded version to use it as a gust lock on the finished plane. The current one is only to use in the workshop, just to hold my rudder straight. So no "Remove Before Flight" steamers on this one and it's rated for in workshop winds only!:D

Now I know why you sold the Bianchi!

I use the Air Gizmo in all 3 axis for travelling although Im still looking for a better aileron solution. I use the harness internally as a backup for the roll axis lock.

Cheers
