G3X Touch + GTN 625 - No Traffic on 625

bkervaski

Hellloooooooo!
Testing
I have a G3X Touch with a GTN-625, my ADS-B antenna is plugged into the GTX-345R transponder, which sends weather and traffic via CAN-BUS to the G3X Touch (and I assumed other devices).

Shouldn't I have traffic on my GTN-625? The Traffic icon is just disabled.

Thanks for any help :)

You have to run the ethernet wires from the 625 to the 345 if you want weather and traffic on the 625.
The CAN bus does not carry weather/traffic, thats 232 feed from the 345.
I'm sure G3Xpert Steve will be along soon to correct me if I'm wrong!

I believe GTX-345R provides both IN/OUT ADSB but I am not sure if the traffic will get displayed on both 650/625 and G3X or just G3X. I'll be interested in the confirmation of what gets displayed.

Hello Walt,

You are correct that the bi-directional Ethernet wiring between the GTX 345/345R/45R and the GTN serves two purposes.

One, the ADS-B Out compliant GPS position data provided by the GTN is transmitted to the GTX over Ethernet.

Two, the ADS-B traffic/weather received by the GTX is transmitted to the GTN over Ethernet.

Thanks,
Steve
