narrow deck cylinder nut question

my o-320 narrow deck came straight off a certified aircraft. The barrel type cylinder nuts are not safety wired but are drilled. I'm getting conflicting opinions if it is required to wire these nuts.. I'm not finding anything in the Lyc many. manual.
It would be a real challenge to get to the nuts in some spots, but if it has to be done......
Anyone familiar with this ?

it is not necessary to safety them. The requirement to do so was lifted by Lycoming before I was born and that was many moons ago
