Default WTB: Lycoming Engine Stand

I have an O-235 to re-assemble and plan to do more engines in the future as time permits (weekend A&P).

Default Candian Tire or Princess Auto

I purchased a V 8 engine stand and it readily accepted the 0 320.

I got it for like 50 dollars as it was on clearance.

Worked great.

It doesnt have to be aviation specific is what i am getting at.

Default Lycoming Engine Stand

Here's what I did for an engine assy stand, one of those wooden wire spools, got this one from the local power company for free.

It worked very well.

HUM--Steven's idea is cool, we could make a fixture that can rotate, and bolt it to a work bench.

I agree. The rotate option has me intrigued and I have a friend with a nice wood shop. Plus, the price is right

"could" make a mounting flange on a lazy susan type of thingy so the flange could rotate. Bolt it to a table, and there you have it.

Nono, too complicated. Put casters on the bottom of the spool and rotate the whole thing. Just like the ones you buy. OR take all that money (?) and buy a cheapy MIG welder (ie HF) and just make a proper metal one. Now youre up a welder and collected another skill!
