Ft Lauderdale Info

Planning a 4 day trip to the Lauderdale area. Any recommendations on GA friendly airports and FBO's?
Who offers transient hangar? What is a good rate?
Pompano and Lauderdale exec. are closest to point of interest.

PMP for sure. FXE has gotten too crazy. Fuel and hangar are much more expensive at FXE. At FXE, Banyan will put you in a big box hangar for $70/night and leave the airplane outside untied until they’re ready to push it in around midnight. At PMP, Sheltair will waive one night tie down with purchase of fuel, no discount on hangar. The transient hangars at PMP are T-hangars. You have the hangar all to yourself. The T-hangar is $40/night if I remember. Sheltair has both truck fuel and SS, but there is another self-serve on the SW corner of the field with cheaper fuel. It is at the end of taxiway M, past the run up pad down a little taxi way. You’ll see it. Also, PMP ground uses spot numbers painted on the surface for taxi instructions in and out of ramps. Finally PMP tower will tell you to report the “LANDFILL” when inbound which is located 3.5 NW of the field. Tell Janie you know the guy with the red, blue, silver RV-8 with all the stars. Good luck!
