Tip-Up Canopy Latch

Has anyone installed one of the Hendricks Door Latch on their Tip-Up?

I have not installed one. I could see that you could make it work on a 7 type tilt up. I would make a single piece control rod and shape it to cam over to lock it in place.The end of the rod pivot point would be below the handle pivot point when in locked position.
