For what it's worth, I know a few builders use the Grote 63821 LED lights. Grote now has two models that are mounting friendly, give off more light, work on 12 or 24 volts, have two styles (taxi & landing), and are CHEAPER! The lights come with a moisture resistant connector and mounting grommets. The lights are German made and are even protected against reverse polarity. I'm using mine for the in wing light, but I think they are small enough to use on the wingtip mountings.
The models are Grote 64F11 & 64F01. Got mine at finditparts.com for $99 each. I left them in the shopping cart for a couple of days and they offered me an additional discount to close out my order. Enough to pay for shipping. Got mine today and tried them out tonight.......well pleased. I'm adding a link to the 63821, 64F01, and 64F11 models that will give pics, dimensions, and specs.
