Filter between snorkel and fuel servo?

Apologies if this is a daft question... I?m a bit concerned about metal/fiberglass debris from possible failure of the attachment of the snorkel to the baffle ramp, or the alternate air door falling into the servo induction hole and then scattered around the engine. Are there any downsides to putting a mesh filter at the lower end of the RV8 snorkel to catch debris, or am I worrying about a problem that doesn?t exist?

I think you're worrying about a problem that doesn't exist. The alternate air "door" is larger than the opening. The rest of the pieces are firmly attached to the snorkle.
