Avery Pitot mast

Just wondering if anyone has information if Avery pitot mast fits the Garmin pitot. Here is a link to the mast

It should...I have the Dynon mast and I asked Garmin if it would work with the Garmin heated pitot...their answer was that it would fit any of the common masts available (Gretz, Dynon etc...)

Here's my Dynon mast (looks just like the Avery one) with the Garmin Gap 26 heated pitot installed.

Awesome, thanks folks for confirming. Now, I can with a bit of ease of mind proceed with cutting the skin for the mast.

Michael, if you still have that gold mast you might check with Dynon about it. Avery's gold masts were replaced a few years ago with blue ones because the gold ones had a thin weld and were cracking.

Thanks for the heads up Kurt.

This is a current Dynon mast. I was aware of the cracking problems with some of the older masts from Avery and Safeair when I ordered it.

I asked Dynon about this mast before I ordered and they confirmed it was of the latest design.

When you look at the weld on this mast, it's much heavier that the older masts.

Here's a photo of the weld.

Yes.

Yes we have one with the Garmin heated pitot. We cut it a little shorter but not by much, just to make it at an optimum to catch the slip stream and have as little drag at the same time. Nice unit, good a solid with the front rivets going to the back edge of the spar. Just what we did. Yours, R.E.A. III # 80888
