Building Tip - Fuel Tank Vent Line

The value of coils ?

I did the 2 coil thing on my -3 and it worked very well. Referring to the nice pic on the the previous post :

Per Dan H calcs, 1/10 gallon is more than the coil can hold.

A little dribble is really not a concern for me.

Why not just run the line to the high point of the airfoil then straight down and out.

What does the coil really accomplish ?

This is the way I did my 9A, the vent is on the outboard end of my outboard tants and vents to the bottom of the wing with 45 degree fitting. I have flow-through venting through my outboard tanks into the inboard tanks.

This seems to make so much sense - any idea why we run a tube from the inboard edge of the tank to the outside edge of the tank when we could do something like this on the outboard edge?
