Default Misbuilt F-01406A's

Starting section 30 today and immediately something didn't seem quite right. In the drawing on p.30-02 the F-01406A is depicted differently than the two I received. While the drawing shows the tabs on the flange bent 180 opposite from the other flange (stiffner), mine are bent the same direction on both the left and the right. There is absolutely no way these parts fit properly. Just wondering if anybody else experienced this, or are my two incorrect parts just a one off?

In this picture, the vertical stiffner and tabs should be bent in the opposite directions for the part to be correct. Since my brother came in town to help with the build this week, this kind of puts a monkey wrench in the build unless Vans expedites the correct parts...or if anyone near Houston that has the right parts and would consider a loan until my replacements arrive I would appreciate it.

I'm on page 29-9, so you're a bit ahead of me. I just looked at my parts and they are indeed per the drawing you referred to. Looks like they bent your parts in the wrong direction (parallel rather than perpendicular). Email support with photos and they should take care of you (giving me more time to catch up with you).

I went out to look at my parts. It appears that the long single tab (internal tab) is bent the wrong way and the flare on the tab is the wrong direction. I based this on the direction of the "flare" on the oval on the bottom of your piece.

I wonder how many of these parts went out bent the wrong way.

Yep, you are correct I was trying to simplify . To be 100% accurate they are as you described and mislabeled right and left, but it gets too confusing to convey

Yup, as good as Vans is at making parts this kind of mistake is not unique. I had something very similar in one of the J-stiffeners in my empennage that wasn't bent correctly, and mine wasn't the only one. I was building at Synergy and one of the other clients had the exact same issue as me.
Vans was very good about getting the proper parts to us, so I suspect they will do the same for you.

I had the same issue with my F-01406A L&R. Van's is sending replacements. I got my fuselage kit in October of 2016.
