Default Removing Andair Selector from the valve

Section 31-03 has us removing the Selector Lever from the valve body. How does one get the cap off the top of the lever, without scratching it up.

If your selector is like mine, you insert a metric allen wrench in the flush screw and twist CCW. The button cap does not come off. Lift up the whole lever as you unscrew it.
