Sprag Clutch replacement

The Governor has a bad sprag clutch and needed some help.
Step 1 took three of us 6 seconds to remove Rotax 912 from the Governor's RV-12 to gain access to the sprag clutch.

You guys must have been recruited from the North Pole :)

Flying since 2013 with around 574 hours?
Way to go. Flying often is great to see. Is this unusual to replace this early on? Or were there other issues associated with this service?

8 Year old Rotax 912 which had the weaker spring

Governor's Rotax 912 is 8 years old he cannibalized from another aircraft.
So unfortunately the 912 had the weaker spring in the sprag clutch.

If I understanding it correctly, these are notorious to go out. I replaced it on our Coyote S6. It took me much longer than 6 seconds though.

To clarify, it took Skunk, The Governor and I six seconds to remove just the engine. It was another nine or ten seconds to replace the sprag and another six seconds for installation.

It's always a pleasure to visit The Governor and First Lady at Camp David. Well worth it for 22 seconds of work.:D
