RV 9 Elevator balancing

Hornet2008

Well Known Member
Have read many posts re elevator balancing, some choose not to balance leaving them nose heavy. On the other hand many have balanced them as one unit and individually before paint and post painting. Van's answer to my question is microscopic balancing hasn't proved necessary and just bolt the weigh in as is. My question is--- are there any RV 9 drivers out there that have only installed weighs and left as is, nose heavy and how does the airplane fly? The only cost I can see is W&B.

Balancing nose low

If the elevator balances nose low doesnt that meAn the cg
G is ahead of the pivot? I seem to recall some sailplanes doing this to improve flutter margin. If it was me i would leave it to be bAlanced nose low. Jmo
