Max. Acro Weight?

Dash 1 or not dash 1

The way I understand it is, the old wing was 1600lbs. aerobatic and 1800lbs. gross. The newer dash 1 is now 1850lbs. gross, but the factory did not lift the aerobatic weight to 1650lbs. It was left at 1600lbs. I do not know why. It may be for better safety or something. You would need to ask them.
Hope this helps. Yours as always. R.E.A. III #80888

if you go to vans web site you will see that the latest RV-8 AND RV-8A wing is listed at 1600 lb aerobatic and 1800 lb gross weights . the early wing was redduced to 1550 lbs aerobatic but retained the original 1800 gross weight .

Actually the early wing was always 1550 from first introduction. It was never reduced.
