Vetterman exhaust installation

Active Member
I am installing a vetterman exhaust on my 0-320-D1A and have found that the crossover pipes are about 3/4" to 1" too long. There is a circumferential felt pen mark at about 1" from the end of the internal tube. I presume these are made longer to fit the "wide deck" engines & must be trimmed to fit on the others.

All feedback welcome.

Hi Graham, The black lines that you see on pipe #4a and #1a have a circular mark going around them 1/1/8" from the end of the pipe. They need to be cut off at the line. This will make your exhaust fit on the 0-320 engine.
A cutoff wheel or hack saw with at least 20 teeth per inch will work well for this. Clint
