Awesome trip and writeup, Joe!

I'm based at Centennial and, oddly enough, it's in Englewood, not Centennial. The Centennial city limits go around the airport's north side.

Interesting writing style, entertaining. Montgomery, AL was only 45 min from Bay Minette, you could have visited Plane Power and smacked Tommy with the carcass.

I learned to fly out of Mobile and that airspace is quite busy. Bad as it sounded for flight following, you were probably better off. I took my check ride for Instrument rating at Bay Minette.

Can wait to see if you discover that the PP issue is in the plug.

Apparently, I was born an engineer. In LA (Lower Alabama) and people seldom knew what I was talking about. (I had not met Dan Horton then) Deer and turkey hunting or bass fishing, now, watch out - they are all up on those subjects.

Keep them coming!!

Conterminous. That's a new one for me.

Great concept and fun reading!

LOL: "A gregarious man in his seventies, he seemed very interested in our trip across America. I learned that he was very proud of Texas and didn't think much of Oklahoma. I hate to think of what he thought of California. Probably nothing I haven't thought myself.

Thanks.

Excellent write up. a 48 state, but for me, 4 week trip has always been on my bucket list. Retirement in 3 years and then planning begins.
