Trying to establish a fair price for the following aircraft:

RV9A slider 10 years old:

o-320 out of a cherokee zero timed with high compression pistons - 300Hrs SMOH ( first overhaul for this engine )

Fixed pitch sensonich prop

Nice Paint and build quality

Standard Vans round guages with TruTrack autopilot

Mode C transponder and SL40 radio

Aircraft in Canada

Any builder gotchas to look for, I have built an RV6 and an RV7A, not too sure what to look for in the RV9A. Are the rear stabilizer mounting bolts to the fuselage longerons as tricky as the 7 ?

Thanks for any advice.

Since you've built two, you know the first place builders learn on is the tail and so that is where you should start. Misdrilled longerons, improperly shot rivets covered up with primer, and so on. The fuselage longerons are as tricky as the 7 and many screw this up. Also, the -9 has the flap attach service bulletin so check for cracks on the wing rear spar. This should keep you occupied for a little bit.

As for value, if it flies, between $25,000 and $75,000.

Good luck on your purchase!
