Rear seat heat.

In my 6, my wife often wears a jacket and wants the heat full on and I am down to a T-shirt and still warm so I knew the 8A would need rear heat. Learning from the 6 I have aileron and elevator push tube boots to seal the tunnel. I had Larry Vetterman make both of my heat muffs and control boxes with 1.5" outlets which works great and he did for no extra charge but 2" will work too. The key part is made on a piece of 1/2 X 3" pine that is actually 1/2 X 2 1/2" from Lowes which I routed two corners off of. I rapped it with packing tape and put PVA release agent on it but it was still a bear to get the wood out when done. I had to drill it some. The inlet is leftover 1.5 push tube from the kit. At full deflection there is still 1/8" clearance and a plethora of hot air is coming up between the backseater's legs. Full disclosure, I am preheating my heat muff air with the oil cooler to save on cooling losses in the summer but you may not have to. My heat is very hot though!

Electric seat heater recommendations?

Those using electric seat heaters for the RV-8 rear seat, what brands/models do you recommend?

Flyboy Accessories. Two heat settings. Sent them to Oregon Aero who installed them when seats were made. Can basically be installed just under seat cover for any seat; bottom and back. Work very well.

Two thoughts on heated seats: I installed heated seats in my Honda SUV a few years ago and it was quite easy to do and much less expensive than factory installed ones. It would be much easier on an RV because of ease of seat removal and the fact that most of our seats have removable upholstery via zippers or Velcro. The heat elements are made of a carbon cloth material of some kind and can be cut to size with a pair of scissors - no copper wires. The other seat heat alternative is a heated seat cushion/cover you can get at auto-zone, o'reilly's, etc. Held in place with eleastic straps and powered through a cigarette lighter plug. I have one of those and it works great too.

Seat heat

I also used the product sold by flyboy accessories, sent them to Abby at Flightline Interiors and she installed when my interior was made. They should be easy to install under existing seat fabric if it is a zipper installation. They work great and my wife loves them. Toasty warm. I also have up front and use when it's really cold...
