Forward top skin trim?

Hi Guys,

I am working on my canopy and when I try to close the frame, by sliding it forward, it interferes with the forward top skin.

In a couple of other posts, I have read, builders lament where to trim the top skin (no consensus). It looks to me like it is all covered with fiberglass, so I was thinking about trimming it off even with the seam in the forward side skin. Does anyone see a problem with this?

Thank you in advance,

Trim away

Yes. trim it back. Look at how the skin there attaches to the forward "roll bar". I cut mine off right behind that vertical line of rivets. This whole area, including the interface of the canopy skirts to the windshield and boot cowl is where you get creative. I found it useful to look at how MANY people did this to find what I liked. There is tremendous variety in this area
